As Korean adoptees, our lived experiences have shown us that the challenges adoptees face are not individual issues alone. They are shaped by broader systems, policies, and histories that continue to impact our lives today. We believe those most affected by adoption are experts in their own lives and must play a central role in shaping understandings of adoption practice, future policy, post-adoption support, and redress.

KADS Connect works to amplify the voices, experiences, and expertise of Korean adoptees in Australia. We engage with government agencies, policymakers, researchers, community organisations, and adoption stakeholders in both Australia and South Korea to advocate for the rights, wellbeing, dignity, and long-term needs of Korean adoptees.

Our advocacy is grounded in community consultation, lived experience, research, and ongoing dialogue with adoptees across Australia and internationally, recognising that there is no single way to be a Korean adoptee.

Through meetings, submissions, partnerships, community organising, campaigning, and policy engagement, we work to centre adoptee voices in conversations about adoption. Our aim is simple: that adoptee perspectives are not only included, but meaningfully reflected in the decisions that shape our lives and future generations.
